The sound of the ukelele will always conjusre up thoughts of sun lit cabanas plush plant life and sandy beaches.  Mara Hoffman’s Spring 2013 collection was introduced using  the soothing tropical melodies of 3 ukelele’s. Guests of the show were treated to a live performance by a ukele playing trio.  The failiar melody was replaced by a synthesized ance track version as the models approached the runway.  From start to finish the collection was a celebration of color.  Bright florals and tribal prints graced the catwalk in looks renging from flowing maxi dresses to sharply cut shorts and jackets.  Hoffman is no stranger to prints as she began her career creating hand-dyed batik’s for her first line  “Circle by Mara Hoffman”.  Though her brad has changed her aesthetic hasnt, he collection is always filled with beautiful tribal inpired prints and bright explosions of color.

The first look set the tome for what was an amazing display of textures and color.  A maxi dress is a great way to cover up a swim suit and also a chic easy ice for the warmer months.  This colorful maxi is a spirited piece that is made of sheer material covered with well placed colorful squares.

Hoffman’s love of travel is evident in this Tribal inspired.

We adored this midriff baring look.  The virant colors work well together.
