On April 15, in celebration of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Fashion 2013 and The Walk 2013, Swarovski’s Michigan Avenue flagship boutique hosted a cocktail reception to unveil an exclusive window installation. The windows, a collaborative work created by 13 Master of Design: Fashion Body & Garment Students (Yufan Gao, Xue Jiang, Youngeun Kwun, Joseph Leamanczyk, Jieru Li, Hao Liu, Sisi Liu, Melvin Marckwardt, Fei Nie, Carmine Ro, Fu Hsueh Tsao, Lindsey Whittle and Man Yuan), honor Swarovski’s “Passport to Sparkle’ campaign. Students designed intricate windmills adorned with jewelry pieces from Swarovski’s Spring/Summer 2013 “Tropical Paradise” collection, as well as complimenting crystals, to signify traveling and personal journeys. The gorgeous window display can be viewed through Friday, May 3, 2013.

On May 3rd, for the third consecutive year, Swarovski will be the Presenting Sponsor of SAIC’s 79th annual fashion show, Fashion 2013. Swarovski will provide students Blair Disbrow, Jordan Kiehle and Crystle Crubaugh with jewelry and crystals to compliment and complete their designs for the Fashion 2013 runway show.

Additionally, Swarovski is also the presenting sponsor of The Walk 2013. The Walk is SAIC’s annual scholarship benefit held in conjunction with Fashion 2013. This year’s benefit will honor Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte with the 2013 Legend of Fashion Award.

Tickets to the 9 a.m., 12 p.m., and 3 p.m. shows are on sale now. Tickets are available online only via saicfashion.org and available at the door on Friday, May 3.
